I believe it to be sterling. There are additional hallmarks, that look to read SS but I just can't see it. This did not hold a magnet and it polished easily. I did not over clean, and there are still areas of tarnish and a few dings and what not, pictured.

So you need to be ok with the info you are getting. The elastic is still intact but old, I did not mess with it too much. Me if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
