This is a vintage Napier cigarette case. It has been in my family dating back to around the 1930's or 1940's. It has never been used. It has been stored since new. It is made of Sterling Silver and 14K Gold. The initials "LL" are engraved on the front - my Dad's initials. Included with the case is the original Napier felt storage pouch, original box it came in, original Napier tag, and a small envelope with a card inside with the name Mr. James Napier printed on it. A bit of history, Napier was named for its President, James Napier, who led the company from 1920 - 1960. However, the company's origins go back to 1875 when it was founded as Whitney and Rice, and after a succession of name changes Carpenter and Bliss, E. Bliss, it became the Napier Co. Napier's name on it, but it does lend itself to the authenticity and provenance of the case.

The case is marked 612 / 90, as is the Napier tag, as well as the bottom of the box. Since I know this has never left my family's possession, I can say with certainty that everything is original, and the contents are the same as when new. Please note as seen in the pictures, the patina that has developed on the case, both inside and outside.

I'm sure it would polish up nicely, but I will leave that decision to the new owner. The box also has some staining on the top and bottom. The case latch works perfectly and has good spring and snap close.

The inner bar and case hinge also have great spring - just like new. And the case is straight - you can see in the last pictures that the top and bottom line up almost seamlessly, with no gaps. The case measures 4 1/2" x 3 1/8", and weights 4.8 ounces (135 grams). This is a great Art Deco looking piece in excellent, complete condition.
