Vintage letterhead cigarette case brass Circa 1939 Worlds Fair Stamped
An amazing piece from the 1939 New York World's Fair. This piece is a'Lettercase' brass cigarette case designed to look and act as a letter. Rumor has it it was used by wives during WW2 to hold prized letters from husbands from overseas. This case is addressed and stamped from 1939. It is addressed to Rhea Wolfson 1959 Dumonte Ave Bklyn NY and has a 1939 World's Fair stamp on it.

The stamp has some damage, it looks as if someone tried to peel it off, but a good portion is still attached. This piece is well marked on the cigarette bar with the designer's name, Harry Richman.

On the other end is a letter shaped box divided into 4 triangles and the letters H, R, N, Co. The piece is solid brass and opens like an envelope with room inside for cigarettes or cards or letters. It is in very good condition with some wear on the interior and the aforementioned stamp. It is 5 1/2 inches by 3 1/4 inches in size. A rare and unusual find!
